Beautiful, the birdsong,
Early in the morning.
Sweet to hear and wake up to,
With happy chirps adorning.

“Here I am!” they call out,
“Listen to my singing!
“Life is great, and we are so
“Excited you are smiling!”

The music fills the air
And shelters all around.
A heart can rest, a soul can dance,
And happiness is found.

“Stop and listen, “ I hear them
Sing from every branch,
“You will not regret it, friend.
“Hear while you have the chance.”

And so I pause, so briefly,
As the dawn is breaking.
I take a deep breath and sigh.
Feelings start awak’ning.

Life is good, even when
Downtrodden and low,
When you hear the happy song
Of lark and tit and swallow.

So, friend, I, along with
All those kind song makers,
Ask you to take a moment.
Are there any takers?

You will find a peace of mind,
Even if you’re stressed.
When you hear the birdsong pure,
Your heart will do the rest.
