Free As The Wind

Written By David E. Young , 2001
Wild and running free,
Wind-blown, soaring now!
Prancing in the wind;
Hooves hit earth, and, "Pow!"

This is the perfect day!
Today, I can do no wrong!
The sun is smiling down.
It's warmth, like my heart, is song.

The field is bright and green.
The grass waves cheerfully.
The wind whips past my ears
As I rear so gracefully.

My mane glistens as it
Flies above my neck.
My body's black and shiny
From when I roll down in the creek.

As I roll in this gorgeous meadow,
To dust my beautiful back,
I think how good it is,
To be a horse, and not a yak!
