The Angel I Belong To

Written By David E. Young , 2011
There is a special person unlike anyone,
Who somehow manages to bring to life such fun.

She lifts my spirits up whenever I feel down.
She knows just what to say to chase away my frown.

She's beautiful and smart, tender, caring too.
She makes the dull exciting; old things become new.

Her smile is broad and gentle, eyes alight with fire.
Her skin is soft and smooth, with innocent desire.

What do you give to the one who has everything?
What can I offer this angel, my true darling?

I'm nothing but a man with an unworthy past,
With some skills I want to use to redeem life's cast.

All I really have is a heart that's full of love.
A willingness to work at building up above.

Piriya, oh my love, my life, gift, my all,
Piriya, I'll be there whenever you need call.

I will live my life striving to meet your needs;
Financial, emotional, physical in deeds.

You already are so much to me, my true love!
I want to be all that for you, my truly lovely dove.

I want to make you laugh and smile and have some fun.
I want to let you vent when you're mad at anyone.

I want to cheer you on as you learn or as you work.
I want to protect you when you deal with some old jerk.

I want to be your huggable teddy when you need.
I want to please your senses and desires you may feed.

I want to sing you love songs meant for only you.
I want to take your stress with a massage or maybe two.

I want to have a hot drink and meal ready when
You come home from studies or work late now and then.

I want to work real hard at earning my own money,
So yours will be for you to spend as you please, dear honey.

But most of all, besides all this, with which I give my life,
I want to be near you and share your joys as my wife.

For better or for worse, in sickness and in health,
For richer or for poorer, and not in any stealth,

I'll love you with all I am as long as I'm alive.
For just your smile alone has given me the drive,

I am just a man with a crooked past
In love with just an angel who's love will surely last.

If you'll have me, angel, I won't disappoint.
I won't be perfect, nor will you, but that is not the point.

I'll love you through thick and thin, as I do right now.
Soon we'll be together, love. Don't worry about how.

And when we are, you will see how worth it all this was;
This wait and testing time for us; you ARE worth the fuss!

You'll be in my arms soon, baby, and I will be yours.
Don't give up on me because you see opposing force.

Wait on me; you won't regret the love that you have found.
I am yours as long as the wind can make a sound.
